On 16th September 2020, Lord Sheikh opened a zoom meeting hosted by the Muslim Charities Forum (MCF).
This meeting brought together various Muslim charities, so that they could coordinate and collaborate to deliver humanitarian support to the flooding in Sudan.
The meeting also involved HE Mr Mohamed Abdallah Idris, Ambassador of Sudan, Dr Hany El-Banna, Chair of MCF, Mr Mohammed Elshabik, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development and Louise Walker, Development Director for Sudan in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Lord Sheikh also arranged a zoom meeting with Muslim Charities who had recently visited Sudan.
During the meeting Lord Sheikh mentioned that he is involved in organising a trade conference to promote more trade between the UK and Sudan. Furthermore, the removal of Sudan from the US State Sponsors of Terrorism list will enable more trade, and for bank accounts to be opened in Sudan.
