At the Takaful Summit a dinner was held at the Jumeirah Carlton Hotel. The dinner was attended by the delegates who came from different parts of the world. At the dinner Lord Sheikh presented awards to winners who have excelled in the various aspects of the Takaful industry. In his speech Lord Sheikh mentioned that the Takaful industry is growing at the rate of 20% per annum and the Takaful covers will appeal to Muslims as well as non-Muslims as it’s based on mutuality, transparency and ethical practices. Lord Sheikh emphasised the importance of the London insurance market and made the point that the United Kingdom can be the platform for penetration into Europe. The United Kingdom is very keen to support the Takaful industry and there is now considerable expertise and market development which will enable it to be at the forefront of the Takaful arrangements.
