Lord Sheikh attended a function held by The Sikh Forum International at the House of Lords to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Guru Granth Sahib on 14th October 2008. The event was organised by Ranjit Singh OBE and was hosted by Viscount Slim. Lord Sheikh was honoured at the event and was presented with an award for services to the community.
