Lord Sheikh hosted a Conference on Multi Faith Group of Healthcare Chaplaincy(MFGHC) on 24th November 2011 during National Inter Faith Week. The event aimed to recognise and celebrate the unique contribution Multi Faith Chaplains make in the Helathcare services. The chaplains represented all major faiths and they came from all parts of the country. A select group of them presented a uniquely rich experience at the conference. Senior religious leaders were also present.

Lord Sheikh in his speech stated that he would like to see the chaplaincy work be assigned to a Minister as part of the Minister’s portfolio and every NHS trust must have a named executive director  responsible for chaplaincy.  This suggestion was well received by the delegates.
