Lord Sheikh hosted the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh HE Mr Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali in the House of Lords on 13th June 2014. Lord Sheikh congratulated HE on his appointment as the Foreign Minister.

The Foreign Minister spoke on the subject of “Bangladesh: Beyond the Headlines” and also on the present situation in Bangladesh. The event was very well attended. The speakers included Baroness Uddin, Lord Bilimoria, Charles Tannock MEP and Jean Lambert MEP. The vote of thanks was given by HE the High Commissioner of Bangaldesh. The MC was Ash Zaman who is a member of the Executive Committee of the Conservative Muslim Forum.
